On December 7th I went down to the M.A.P.S here in Hamilton, Montana to teach a portrait class on portrait photography and lighting techniques. It was a great experience to pass some tips and tricks down to the youth. We started off with how I started photography when I moved into a business and how the business has transformed over time. After that we moved into shooting some portraits and talking about the light and how to control and shape it. Below are some shots I shot during class and some that was shot by a student during class. The last two images were shot by a student when I was showing the difference between wide angle lenses and telephoto lenses. Thank you M.A.P.S for bringing me in to work with your students. You have a great program going and I’m happy to come and talk anytime.
